American model Allison Brooks Janney was born November 19, 1959. In the last three decades, her performances have received appreciation on both screen and stage. Janney has been honored with numerous accolades including The Academy Award and British Academy Film Award. The seven Primetime Emmy Awards were also handed out to Janney. In addition, two Tony Awards were nominated. Janney was a native of Dayton, Ohio. She was born in and lived in Boston. After her graduation in Kenyon College, she received an all-inclusive scholarship to The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. Janney's first appearance on television was 1999 when she appeared as C. J. Cregg in NBC's political drama The West Wing (from 1999 through 2006). She was awarded the role four Primetime Emmy Awards for the performance. Her role on The Showtime Drama Masters of Sex, Margaret Scully, Janney won the Primetime Emmy Award 2014 for Outstanding Guest Actress In a Drama Series. Janney has been nominated for at least six Primetime Emmy Awards, and she took home two awards for Outstanding Supporting Actress in Comedy Series.
